Malaysia witnessed a nationwide celebration of science as schools across the country joined the groundbreaking ‘STI 100 on the Power of Three’ (STI 100³) initiative, themed ‘Scientists@Schools: Let’s STI!’. Among the passionate scientists leading this charge was Ir. Dr. Shamini Janasekaran from SEGi University, who visited Sekolah Kebangsaan Klang to spark young minds with a hands-on journey into the world of science, technology, and innovation, 7 July 2025.
The STI 100³ initiative is designed to bring real-world science directly into classrooms through regular, mentor-led STEM outreach sessions conducted every 100 days. By bridging the gap between academia and grassroots learning, the programme introduces students to local scientists from diverse backgrounds—government, academia, industry, and NGOs—who serve as role models and mentors. For students, this means science becomes more than theory; it becomes something they can see, touch, and imagine themselves doing.
