Students Explore Heritage Conservation at Blue Mansion

Learning is not limited to the classroom. SEGi  recently demonstrated this through an educational visit to the historic Cheong Fatt Tze Mansion, aimed at providing students with a deeper understanding of heritage conservation. Attended by students from the Cultural Studies (TOU3123N) and Heritage Management (TLH104) programmes, the visit was organised by Mr. Muhamad Irfan bin Bustaipo and focused on Penang’s rich architectural heritage.

The Cheong Fatt Tze Mansion, also known as the Blue Mansion, is a renowned historical building in George Town, Penang. This architectural gem, commissioned in the late 19th century by the influential Chinese businessman Cheong Fatt Tze, is famous for its distinctive indigo-blue colour. The mansion’s rich history and unique design elements made it an ideal site for students to explore the tangible connections between the past and the present.
