Capturing creativity: Canon photography workshop at SEGi College Kuala Lumpur

With effort to expose the communication and creative design’s student with essential skills and ignite their passion for visual storytelling, the School of Communication & Creative Arts and Design (SOCAD) recently organized an engaging and informative workshop titled “Photography Workshop with Canon.” With the active participation of 20 enthusiastic students, this workshop aimed to provide hands-on experience and practical knowledge about DSLR cameras, specifically focusing on the captivating realm of portrait photography.  

Led by the experienced and talented trainer, Barathan Amuthan, who represented Canon, the workshop kicked off at 9.00 am and continued until 12.30 pm. Students eagerly embraced the opportunity to explore into the world of professional photography, gaining insights into the art of capturing compelling portraits. Under Amuthan’s expert guidance, they learned the technical aspects of operating DSLR cameras, including adjusting aperture, shutter speed, and ISO settings to achieve desired effects. Through a combination of theoretical discussions, practical exercises, and group activities, students honed their skills and developed a deeper understanding of the nuances of portrait photography.
