Datin Prof Dr Mariani Put Early Childhood Where It Belongs: At the Top of the Agenda

SEGi University proudly celebrates a momentous milestone as Datin Prof. Dr. Mariani Binti Md Nor, Dean of the Faculty of Education, was invited to address Parliament Malaysia on critical issues affecting the Early Childhood Education (ECE) sector. Her presentation sparked national attention as she highlighted urgent gaps in access, teacher training, and policy support, further cementing her role as a leading voice in education reform and advocacy.

In her address, Prof. Mariani called for equitable access to quality preschool education, particularly for marginalised and rural communities. She underscored the pressing need for structured, ongoing teacher development to equip educators with updated pedagogical tools and inclusive practices. Her recommendations aligned with international benchmarks for early learning quality and sustainability, amplifying the call for increased government investment in Malaysia’s youngest learners.
