Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology (DIMLT) students at SEGi College Kuala Lumpur are researching case studies to improve their clinical skills and knowledge of diseases such as syphilis, malaria, and dengue. The study’s goal is to provide an in-depth explanation of the patient’s diagnostic procedures, and it is utilised to develop a report and poster presentation for academic assessors. Students responded positively to the training, with 85% feeling more secure in their clinical findings knowledge and 80% believing their case study research skills had improved.
The clinical instructor and lecturer in the DIMLT course, Yogeswary A/P Arumugam, supervises clinical placements and analyses students’ appearance, professional attire, presentation materials, content, confidence, and expertise during the poster presentation. The program’s performance demonstrates the college’s dedication to offering high-quality education and generating highly trained medical laboratory technologists who can succeed.
