From France to Malaysia: The Internship That’s Rewriting the Rules

In a continued effort to drive international academic collaboration and prepare students for the global digital economy, SEGi University recently welcomed students from the University of Limoges, France, as part of the Internship Mobility Programme under the Faculty of Engineering, Built Environment, and Information Technology (FoEBEIT). The initiative reflects SEGi’s commitment to building future-ready graduates while strengthening strategic industry-academia partnerships across borders.

As part of the programme, Associate Professor Dr Norriza Hussin and Dr Aida Maryani Abd Rashid conducted professional visits to two Malaysian tech companies where the French students were placed. Lansana, who interned at Hata Technologies in August 2024, demonstrated strong progress in applying classroom theory to real-world tech projects, while Leo’s internship with Magnus Games Studio in May 2025 showcased his hands-on contributions to game development and digital innovation. These experiences not only enriched the students’ understanding of Malaysia’s fast-evolving tech industry but also strengthened bilateral ties between France and Malaysia in the field of education and technology.
