How to Get Published in SCOPUS and WoS Without Losing Your Mind

SEGi University continued its commitment to academic excellence and global visibility through a dynamic knowledge-sharing session titled Demystifying SCOPUS and WoS Article Publication by Sportsman with SCOPUS-WoSMan on 24 March 2025. The talk, led by prolific scholar Associate Professor Dr Lim Boon Hooi, attracted over 20 enthusiastic postgraduate students and staff, both in person and virtually, who were eager to learn how to elevate their research through publication in high-impact journals.

The session explored the fundamentals of Web of Science (WoS) and SCOPUS-indexed journals and provided strategic guidance for identifying the right journals, understanding indexing criteria, and maximising visibility in the academic world. Participants were introduced to best practices in preparing articles using the IMRaD format and gained insights into why publishing in these databases matters—not just for personal academic recognition, but also for institutional reputation and world rankings.
