SEGians Volunteer to Make a Difference for Animals

SEGi recently showcased its dedication to fostering compassion and community engagement through the “Paws to Care” event on 20 July 2024 at Pertubuhan Kebajikan Haiwan Selangor, Homesland Animal Shelter, Puchong. Organised by the School of MPU, this event aimed to instil a deep sense of responsibility and empathy towards animals among participants, aligning with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 15 (SDG 15: Life on Land).

Volunteering at animal shelters has long been recognised as an activity that benefits the animals and significantly impacts the volunteers and the community. Participants in the “Paws to Care” event had the opportunity to interact with the shelter animals, experiencing firsthand the joy and fulfilment that comes from helping those in need. This engagement contributes positively to personal development, enhancing compassion, empathy, and a sense of purpose.
