Students Turned Thai Classics Into Culinary Art

On 16 April 2025, hospitality students from SEGi brought Thailand to the table with a vibrant, meticulously executed Thai lunch service that impressed guests with both authenticity and professionalism. As part of their practical training, students were tasked with managing a full-service, multi-course Thai dining experience—from kitchen to front-of-house—bringing culinary artistry and cultural appreciation together in a single event.

Guests were welcomed with the warm hospitality expected of future professionals, as students showcased their mastery of both food preparation and refined service. Tables adorned with cream-coloured linen and banana leaf accents set the tone for an elegant yet culturally immersive experience. Each course, presented with finesse, told a story of traditional Thai cuisine reimagined through the lens of fine dining. One highlight was the final course—sticky rice with mango and coconut cream—delivered with modern plating techniques while maintaining its cultural essence.
