SEGi recently undertook a meaningful initiative titled “Surplus Kitchen 2.0: A Dedication to the Salvation Army,” at the Salvation Army Penang. This event, organized by the School of Hospitality & Tourism Management, brought together 25 dedicated participants, all driven by a shared commitment to advancing educational excellence and contributing to sustainable development.
The “Surplus Kitchen 2.0” initiative was more than just an event—it was a profound demonstration of SEGi’s dedication to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The event directly supported SDG 2 (Zero Hunger), SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals). By collaborating with the Salvation Army, SEGi not only addressed immediate community needs but also reinforced its commitment to fostering sustainable practices and partnerships that make a lasting impact.
