SEGi University’s Faculty of Medicine, Nursing & Health Sciences proudly secured a spot among the Top 15 teams at the International Microbiology Quiz Competition 2025 (iMICROBE’25), a prestigious event hosted by Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM) on 17 May. Outshining participants from across Malaysia, Singapore, and Indonesia, the SEGi team ranked 7th in a field of 28 elite university teams, comprising 112 participants. This impressive achievement reaffirms SEGi’s commitment to cultivating high-performing healthcare students equipped for global impact.
Representing SEGi University were students Chit Min Thet, Lai Weng Sum, Clement Lee Wei Jie, and Peyrishka Shammini, who demonstrated exceptional mastery in microbiology, immunology, and infectious diseases. Their performance throughout a series of high-intensity challenges — including rapid-fire Kahoot quizzes and a physically engaging “Explorace” — was a true reflection of their academic rigour, critical thinking, and collaborative spirit.
