When Business Students Meet Tech Infrastructure, Innovation Follows

Bridging the gap between academic theory and real-world digital innovation, the Faculty of Business and Accountancy at SEGi recently organised an educational trip to CENTEXS Santubong for 20 students enrolled in the E-Commerce subject. This initiative exposed students from the Diploma in Business Administration (DIBA) and Diploma in Accountancy (DOA) programmes to the cutting-edge tools and technologies driving today’s digital economy.

CENTEXS, a state-established technical and digital training centre under Yayasan Sarawak, plays a critical role in upskilling Malaysia’s workforce in high-impact sectors such as digital tech, green energy, hospitality, and advanced infrastructure. During the visit, students explored how technologies like 5G networks, fibre optics, augmented reality (AR), and cloud computing are transforming the way businesses operate—turning classroom concepts into tangible industry applications.
