SEGi levelled up its student engagement efforts with the Tekken 7 Tournament on 20 March 2025, bringing together 15 passionate gamers for an intense showdown in the campus E-sports Room. Organised by the Esports Club under the leadership of Syed Ommid Shah, the event was more than just a battle for victory — it was a celebration of digital skill, inclusion, and community through the lens of competitive gaming.
The tournament reflected the growing significance of esports in education and youth development. Globally, the esports industry is projected to reach over USD 1.8 billion by 2025, with a rapidly expanding audience and professional scene. But beyond viewership, esports fosters critical soft skills such as strategic thinking, teamwork, and stress management — essential competencies in both academic and real-world settings.
