SEGi University marked World Health Day 2025 with an empowering campaign themed Clean Water, Healthy Life, led by students from the Faculty of Engineering, Built Environment & Information Technology (FOEBEIT). Held on 5 April 2025, the initiative brought scientific awareness to the forefront through a series of student-led poster exhibitions, presentations, and water sampling demonstrations aimed at highlighting the crucial link between access to clean water and community well-being.
This event aligned with growing global concerns over water access, as more than 2.2 billion people worldwide still lack safely managed drinking water and 3.6 billion live without proper sanitation, according to the World Health Organization. In Malaysia, while the infrastructure for piped water is widespread, water quality challenges persist due to pollution, rapid urbanisation, and climate-related disruptions — making awareness and preventive action critical.
