In a remarkable demonstration of community engagement and selflessness, a group of IT students from SEGi University, collectively known as “Kechara Soup Kitchen” dedicated an entire day to voluntary activities. This impactful day of service aimed to bring about a positive difference in the lives of those in need and was marked by three distinct voluntary efforts: surplus collection, static distribution, and street distribution.
The day kicked off with a morning of surplus collection at Kechara Foodbank in Setapak, Kuala Lumpur. The SEGi team, in collaboration with members from KPMG, received a comprehensive briefing on Kechara’s background and mission. SEGi students were divided into groups, each assigned to specific locations, including Aeon Wangsa Maju, Aeon Big Wangsa Maju, and Aeon Big Putrajaya. Their task involved collecting surplus items, weighing them, and coordinating with Kechara’s team. The collected surplus was then transported to the drop-off point at Darul Ukhwah Yayasan Al-ijazah in Puchong.
