They are also more well-respected by their family, friends, and colleagues because people with good self-control speak, act, and carry themselves differently from others.

Self-control is one of the major contributors to our goals, achievements, and quality of life in general. A person who lacks self-control will unconsciously self-sabotage their success and relationships with others.
