Over 600 line dancers from Indonesia, Singapore, and all over Malaysia, including Sabah & Sarawak, gathered at SEGi University on 5 March for a good cause. The LDF@KL2023 event was in support of the Line Dance Foundation, an international organisation that helps and supports those involved in line dance on a professional basis during difficult times such as illness, accidents, natural disasters, and more. The Line Dance Foundation stepped in and distributed financial aid to numerous instructors/choreographers worldwide, including several Malaysians.
Jennifer Choo Sue Chin, the LDF Ambassador of Malaysia, organised the LDF@KL2023 event, which raised over RM28k for the Line Dance Foundation. Over the course of six hours, 80 songs were played to a full floor of line dancers who have learned the choreographies by heart, while instructors/choreographers from various groups took turns to lead on stage. There were two dance choreography workshops by Winson EWS (You Were There For Me), Philip Gene Sobrielo and Rebecca Lee (Won’t Forget You). The dancers were also treated with a captivating Chinese Modern Dance performance by Ivy Low’s dance group.
